In the beginning, ape-like creatures roamed the earth with the dinosaurs. The cavemen in those days didn’t have a lot of options when it came to their dental care. And after a millennia of chewing on rocks and picking their teeth with sticks, their oral health really began to suffer. 20 million years later, Dr. Thomas Kalniz opened the doors to Corner Dental in 1969. It was a little late to help the cavemen out, but just in time for patients in the Toledo, Ohio region to get convenient, comfortable and affordable dental care.
In 2002, Dr. Thomas Kalniz retired, and his son, Dr. Scott Kalniz, took over the practice. He wanted everyone in the Toledo area to have access to quality dental care, and began the expansion process.
Our practice has grown to 6 locations in the Toledo area: 1642 Ralston Circle at the corner of Reynolds and Dorr behind Speedway, 4014 Elmhurst at the corner of Sylvania and Elmhurst, just west of Douglas, 447 West Dussell Drive in Suffolk Square Plaza next to Gino's Pizza, 3246 Navarre Avenue across from Kroger and our brand new locations opening in 2009 on Talmadge Road between Starbucks and J. Alexander's Restaurant, and in Bowling Green at 990 West Poe Road on the corner of Poe and Haskins, south of the Fairgrouds.
