Could your smile land you a part as an extra in a scary movie?
If your natural teeth are malformed or have been worn, damaged or lost, come to Corner Dental and let us turn you into the leading lady or superhero you deserve to be. Our dental experts offer a variety of restorative techniques to bring back the function and health of your teeth and the natural beauty of your smile.
Some common dental problems requiring restorative treatment include cavities, broken teeth, worn teeth, cracked teeth, or lost permanent teeth. But before a restorative procedure can take place, we have to get rid of any decay and shape the remaining tooth structure to suit the restorative technique being used to address your issue. Fillings for cavities are the only restorative material created within the tooth itself which allows it to be done in one visit. All others restorative appliances or materials are created in our laboratory using a model of the tooth structure and can sometimes take several appointments. In cases like this, we use temporary devices to protect the tooth until the permanents come back from the lab.
Cavities form when tooth decay has eroded the hard enamel of your tooth and penetrated the sensitive inner tooth structure. Left untreated, cavities can cause inflammation, infections and more serious complications like sepsis. To stop the cavity from getting bigger and causing severe damage to the tooth, we’ll remove the decay with a dental drill or air abrasion technique, and replace the tooth structure with a filling made of either silver amalgam, composite resin (tooth colored) or gold. We’ll evaluate your case and lifestyle to determine the right material for your filling.
When a tooth is cracked, worn or damaged, but still has a strong and stable root a dental crown is the perfect way to repair the damaged tooth, prevent further complications and give you back your beautiful, natural smile. First, the dentist will remove any decay and a make a wax mold of the affected tooth and the teeth next to it. Each crown is custom made to fit a specific tooth and blend easily into the rest of your smile. After it’s finished, the new crown is placed over the tooth, adjusted to fit and cemented into place. And if you have a crown currently but aren’t happy with the way it looks or the material it’s made from, we can replace it for you.
If one or more of your teeth are missing, Corner Dental can create a bridge to prevent your other teeth from shifting, affecting your bite, and increasing your risk of other dental problems like gum disease. Like other restorative procedures, dental bridges are used to give you back the function, strength and beauty of your natural smile. Composed of artificial teeth, the bridge literally “bridges the gap” between your other teeth. It’s anchored to the neighboring teeth, so unlike dentures, a bridge is a non-removable dental appliance.
No matter what kind of restorative work you need, you can trust that Corner Dental will provide you with a well-made, comfortable restoration that will last a long time with proper care and maintenance.
